Tap in with CFB Nation for real insight, not recycled takes. This is where the game lives.
As CFB Nation continued our spring game tour in Atlanta, it became more than evident that something was shifting at Georgia State. This wasn’t the same program that closed out 2024, with only two wins. From the heightened energy to the new coaching changes, the atmosphere was loud, the family atmosphere top-tier, and the product on the field? Completely reimagined.
The Nation's Top College Football Stories
The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine took place this past weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, marking another year of the annual event where over 300 top college football prospects showcased their skills ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. The four-day event featured on-field drills, medical evaluations, and interviews, giving NFL scouts, coaches, and GMs a chance to assess the next wave of talent.
Defensive linemen and linebackers kicked things off on Thursday, with standouts like Tennessee EDGE James Pearce Jr. impressing with a 4.47-second 40-yard dash and Texas A&M’s Shemar Stewart dominating across multiple drills. Friday highlighted defensive backs and tight ends, where South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori turned heads with a 43-inch vertical and a 4.38-second 40, while Kentucky CB Maxwell Hairston set an early combine pace with a blazing 4.29-second 40.
Saturday shifted focus to quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers, though top QBs like Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward opted not to throw, saving their showcases for pro days. Texas WR Isaiah Bond aimed to challenge the 40-yard dash record but fell short of Xavier Worthy’s 4.21 mark from 2024. Finally, Sunday wrapped up with offensive linemen, where LSU’s Will Campbell and Missouri’s Armand Membou reinforced their high draft stock with strong athletic performances despite some measurement concerns.
Notable prospects like Heisman winner Travis Hunter and others drew attention throughout, with some boosting their draft stock through athletic feats while others relied on interviews to make an impression. The combine, as always, provided a critical snapshot of the 2025 draft class, setting the stage for free agency and pro days ahead.
